I put in a fresh gallon of oil 2 weeks ago and then a few days later I saw purple oil all over my drive way leaking from my drain plug. I opened the engine compartment and saw that I had very little oil left in the oil tank. I think I lost more than 3/4 of a gallon. I looked all around the hoses that are connected to the oil tank and didnt notice any oil leaking.

where do I need to look for the leak?
I am going out this long weekend, so if I wanted to pre mix the fuel, what is the Ratio???

it could be: loose clamps, worn grommet on bottom of oil tank, cracked hose. Check all, even the bigger hose from the bottom of motor.

40:1 but you still must have oil in the tank for the Rotary valve....or a loop system.

wow, oil coming out of the drain, you`d better look for that leak, bc that is a decent amount to drain down...
+1 on the above post... also follow the lines and see if any of the T`s or Y`s are leaking as well, I`m pretty sure those are zip tied, maybe something came loose...

As SDB said... it's hard to say where it's coming from on this end of the keyboard. The most likely place is a warn/hard grommet on the bottom of the oil tank. BUT... it can be a bunch of other things too.

NOW..........

My real concern... you said you had purple oil all over the place. What kind of oil are you running?

If I put enough oil in my tank where the level is above the return from the rotary valve it drips outta the filter thingy down into the hull. Not sure if that is suppose to leak or not. I can only have my tank half full. I'm gonna figure it out but I'm tracing down a miss right now

Mine drips right outta that filter and if your not standing there watching it you couldn't tell. It falls right down to the hull.

Mine also drips from that little breather valve if I overfill it. Very annoying as is makes a real mess of the hull when mixed with water. Then when you drain it leaves oil film all over... not environmentally friendly:mad:

Quicksilver API-TC both synthetic blend and full synthetic are purple, have you been living in a cave?

I still have a small oil leak somewhere....hopefully it's not the big line at the bottom of motor......I'm using Amsoil Interceptor and it is blueish/purple when mixed with water....unless some purple power was still hidden somewhere...but I doubt it.

Yes... but it's a nice cave.

Sorry... I get XPs at a good price, so that's what I burn. It seems like most of the TC-w3 oils are blue to purple colored.
