2 stroke leaking from intake grate near back of boat

I noticed 2 stroke oil leaking from the rear of the intake grate I did over fill it a little a week ago is there anyway it could leak down from there? I had a look but couldn't see much. Thanks

The only way 2-stroke oil can get down there, is if there was a large crack in the hull. (The mount is up higher than the bilge bottom)

Its probably oil from the gear case or the stator. It's time to check both for water contamination.

Ok thanks going to look at as soon as I can. I just purchased this boat a 2002 utopia 205 so I'm not familiar with it at all yet. I jus purchased service manual and will look it up.

Let us know what you find. But generally, oil in the bottom of a Mercury drive is not a fun fix.

It is leaking from the stator. I've checked the gear oil level and it still seems fine no contamination either. I've ordered oil and a seal hopefully that's all I will need. I'm taking it out one more time before parts get here hopefully that won't cause any more problems. Thanks for the info Dr honda
