I'm back, more questions...

1. I was getting a little familiar with my boat today. I took the engine cover off and was trying to identify parts with my very limited mechanical knowledge. While scouting around what I think was the bilge pump I saw there is a section in the hull that rises up and back down. Kind of creating a section between the engine and where the gas tank are. On the engine side I noticed a little pool of water. I also noticed that area is where the drain plugs are. Is there something I should be worried about or is that just typical water that will drain out?

2. I haven't really lubricated anything since I have owned the boat. The owners manual recommends lubricating several things every 10 hours of use in salt water. Now that I am near 20 hours I wanted to make sure I touch up those areas even though I haven't had any issues yet. In the manual it shows this little tube near the oil dip stick. Am I just supposed to shoot down there and it takes care of everything? Also should I be spraying around the jet gate area and is there anything I should make sure I don't hit? I'm just using wd-40.

Thanks for any info.

I can tackle the bilge, somebody else will have to go over the lube stuff. That's in the owners repair manual. I highly recommend buying one. Most of the water in these boats end up in the ski locker or the motor area. Keep the area drained. My bilge pump sits right in front of the engine it does an ok job of getting the water out. I am adding a second bilge pump to pull from a different area.

If you are on a trailer pull the drain plugs and allow it to drain. I often have to pick up the front to get 95% of the water out. Check the the drain holes between sections they fill with trash of moldy gunk.

Thanks. Every time I come in I pull the drain plugs and leave them open until I go back in the water. The section where the bilge is and the engine are separated. I may just need to lift it up higher to get that bit out. Also not knowing much about bilge pumps, does the water have to be to a certain level before it pumps out? I noticed a small layer of water in that area as well.

The default pump has an auto mode and manual mode. The auto mode is higher than the manual mode. If you leave your battery on and rain comes into your boat the auto mode will protect it and run down the battery.

That makes sense then because I don't leave my battery on!

auto should run even with the battery off, its a direct connect via a fuse at the back of the battery.

Ah ok. That also makes sense. I had just read over that in the manual. I recently bought a tarp and bungie cables because we have been getting a lot of rain and the snap on cover doesn't keep all the water out.

search bilge pumps on this forum, the design of the hull leaves water pooling. you could replace the standard with a low profile bilge pump.
