2 new 2 know!

I have recently aquired 2 1996 XPs.Both run great initially. 1 after about 45 minutes or so shuts down. It acts like a car with vapor lock. Took 2 shop and had fuel system checked and they replaced carb needle etc. Runs great in shop til on water 45 mins or so later. I do not know where to start for most simple and inexpensive " process of elimination steps". Downloaded 317 page manual. Thanks by the way! Would much rather seek experienced owners and mechanic 1st. I plan 2 upgrade w/ high performance later. Can anyone help ! Ray Ray from Murville Tn. Thanks !
