G Gemfan New Member Jul 29, 2008 #1 Hey Guys, My neighbor bought 2 2002 GTI's used, after enjoying them for awhile ,both have 1 bad rod bearing. Is this a common problem? any ideas? How much oil should stay in the bottom end to lubricate the crank and bearings? THANKS

T timmyboy76 New Member Jul 30, 2008 #2 the resivoir bottle shouldn't be ran, empty. Sounds like the oil pump went south, or clogged up...

T timmyboy76 New Member Jul 30, 2008 #6 yah, but the rod bearing/s are lubed from the oil/gas mix...if these skis have blockoffs, then someone forgot to add oil, or oil pump failed/clogged.

G Gemfan New Member Jul 30, 2008 #7 Both motors are apart ,no doubt about bad bearings. If the rods are lubed by the fuel the what are the large oil lines on each side of crankcase?
