Hey guys,

Ok so im getting the XP ( 951 )ready for the season and I cant get it to start. I put in new fuel. It will start if I put gas/oil in the cylinders and it runs for about 5 seconds but then dies when I give it throttle. I checked the spark, its good, did compression test, its good. The only thing i can think of is when I cleaned the carbs out during the winter, maybe I switched the line in with the return. It looks like there is fuel on the top fuel line going between the carbs, but its doesnt look like a lot. Witch nipple on the carb is line in? Ive looked on the net and its hard to get a clear answer. But I do remember starting it after I put the carbs back in and it ran. maybe it was just running on the fuel left over from the lines? Anyways if anyone knows what nipple to put the fuel line in, that would be a great help..

Thanks guys :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Pull the water separator and see if its full of fuel. The inline filter should be full also. If I remember correctly its the return lines that come out of the top of both carbs and connect to a Y fitting. My feed line goes to the bottom of the MAG carb (97 XP 787).

What were we taking about? I couldn't read past your Avatar.

On the 951 the inlet line from the filter to the carb will go on the fitting under the front carb. The nipple is pointing down towards the bottom of the ski and the hose clamp almost hits the throttle cable.
The return line is on the top of the front acrb and is pointing towards the nose of the ski. Be careful with this one as the fitting is plastic and some have had it break.

Hey Guys,

Yes I put in new plugs and checked to make sure it has spark and it does. I also think its something small and prolly right under my nose, lol. Thanks Mikidymac for that info. Im going to go and check and see if I have it wrong. I hope thats all it is. The design of this ski is not the funnest to work on..... Grrrrr.....lol

Hey Guys,

Ok so I double checked everything and it all was how it should be. So I put fuel/oil in the cylinder like 10x's, no joke and it finally stayed running and starts right up now. Never had a ski take that long go get the fuel though the system, but all is well and im a happy camper. Now its time to take the wife out on the lake...Woot Woot..... Thank you all for you help with this.You guys ROCK!!!!! :hurray::hurray::hurray:

Even if it is not just let us believe that is who you are taking to the lake. LOL
