The ski extension on this Speester makes little sense or I am a rock. The manual is very vague. I think this is a simple procedure but here is what I get:
user's manual: raise ski extension section
What I get: will not move, if turned CCW, the :ack:top fitting unscrews and the black inner pole section can come out, leaving a two foor long threaded rod in the storage shaft
Manual: raise inner shaft until it stops
What I get: the black section comes all the way out of the storage shaft
I have lubricated the bottom of the shaft in case it will "turn ccw" and come free.
I have tried some force, the shaft has come up about 5/8 inch and will not go back down.
I have quit while I am behind. Can anyone tell me in fairly detailed directions, how this assembly is supposed to be assembled, for skiing?

You are basicallly going about it the right way, but just screwing the stainless cap too far CCW. I have to screw mine 4-5 half turns and then the pull up on the pole. The whole 1 1/2 inch pole will then come out about 18 inches and then stop. you then have to turn it cw until tight to lock it in place. You can then add the 2 1/2 in extension over top (you will find above the engine). If you cannot get the inner pole to slide up it may be jammed or somehow locked. You may have to investigate vissually whats going on through the engine compartment. Good luck.
