Hi , I have a 1999 seadoo xp and it was running perfect the other day then i took it down the bay and it ran fine for about 5mins then just all of a sudden ran like shit, real ruff and if you full accelerated sumtimes it would just bog out n stall, or take off extremly slo and would sound like running real ruff,
Then i took it home then took it back out in fresh water and again it ran fine for 5mins then same thing, Then i pulled it out , Next day tryd again and it ran fine for 5mins then same thing just starts running crap!!!!,

It seems when it sits for a while it will run fine then just die down withn a short period,
I checked the plugs one was pritty crap all black so i went and bort 2 brand new ones (BR8ES) put them in and it went good then crap,
Pulled the plugs out and one is BONE DRY and other is still lubricated,
What causes this to happeenn? I did run it empty the time before it started playing up

How do i fix this problem??????

THanks

:confused::confused:

....Okay just checkd my compression it was all good, 140 and 135,
Also left it running for a while with the hose attached and it dosent seem to play up when not under load, ANY IDEAS ????????? HELP

thanks

Probably fuel supply problem.

Does it have gray fuel lines? If it does, they will have to be replaced, to get it to run consistently. Clean out filter at the bottom of the fuel baffle, in the tank. Clean out the water trap filter. Clean the fuel select valve. (Have you tried reserve?) Clean the carb filters.

Look at sea doo snipes sticky on "BOGGING".

yah, replace fuel lines if grey, and order carb rebuild kit from,parkeryamaha.com. Clean the fuel selector/replace it, and check screen at end of baffle/replace it...

Hey arc. All the above is true with suggestions. Another one would be to pull the RAVE valves off and clean them up real good. Could be sticking.

...Yeh will try all of the above , but why does it run fine always for a few minutes then just start running crap???????,

well, sometimes, the fuel system works ok, when not pumping much fuel. But, when you need more fuel, it cannot deliver enough.

Also, if there is trash in the filters, then some of the trash may float away from the screen, while sitting. Then, put a demand for fuel on it, then she plugs up pretty fast, in about 5 mins.

I suspect a fuel supply problem.

Okay thanks for all the feed back so far,,
all these suggestions is it hard to do yourself or should i just take it to a seadoo shop????
Is there any guides to explain how to do these ideas????
thanks
