I bough t this ski and it ran fine. 3 days later as i was driving it at around 30mph it just shut off, like the battery was disconnected. It was hard to start back up. It finally did but then did the same thing. After pulling it out of the water and did a compression test was 60. cylinder was badly scarred along with the piston skirt. I did a top end rebuild and now when i put it in the water starts and revs out of water but wont go in water, like its bogged are clogged. Wont rev up in the water. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance. I have two of the same skies, Serial # 1 number different. So i did switched the rectifiers just to see if that was the problem, but didnt change the bogging down as i tried to run it in the water today, just putted and all bogging down still.

Did you ever rebuild the carbs and fuel system?
No its fuel injected. I've only had the skis for 7 weeks so far. I'm going to remove and clean both injectors today. Not sure what i need to do to clean the whole fuel system yet. I did order a diagnostic scanner a rectifier and a service manual for that year ski. They will be here in 5-7 days from now. I might just buy a bunch of new parts being I have two of the same bikes. That way I have some as spare parts and ready when I need them. I feel that if I'm going to own a PWC that I need to be able to do the repairs. I do have mechanic skills on cars, but PWC is now new to me and I want to learn as much as possible, to keep my cost down on them. I don't mind buying new parts but I just need to know which ones. Its work in progress. Thanks for your reply Mikidymac.

I would say you found the problem.

Sorry, didn’t notice it’s fuel injected.
I did the top end already. New cylinder piston and rings. Now runs but not under a load, so the old problem that caused that damage still their. Must be fuel system I'm thinking now.
