hello everyone i am wondering what is the correct way to flush the engine on a seadoo challenger twin rotax.

i connected a garden hose the the connection port under the hood up top and and then pinched the hose after the tee fitting started the engine and got no water throught the pee hole.

what is the correct procedure of flushing with the top ports and also washing with the port by the drive? when you flush with the hose conncested on the drive area do you have to pinch anything and does the boat have to be started?

I generally don't pinch off anything. But.....

1) start the engine
2) turn on the water
3) if you are going to run for more than a couple minutes... spray the carbon seal with soapy water
4) turn off the water
5) turn off the engine.
6) Repeat on the second engine.

Seadoo's don't generally like to be run out of the water... so unless you are running in salt water... only flush the engine when you think you may have sucked up some sand.

I would like to start the boat and let it run for a while jn the drive way just rebuilt the top end were would I spray the solution? Also the pee hole is not spitting water out I disconnected the hose and only exhaust smoke comes out

If I connect the water to the bottom port by the drive does the engine have to be on. I quickly turn the engine on connected the water to the drive area and the motor shut off??

I believe you are supposed to connect to the bottom one and only open the top one. You should start engine first then turn on water and turn off water before stopping engine. Having water on when engine is not running will fill it with water. Not good. If you did this start the engine and run it to evacuate the water. As for the pee hole very little water comes out at low RPM.

I'm a little confused about the way you are wording it... but NEVER run water into the engine, if the engine is not running.

Also... you shouldn't run that boat on the trailer for more that a minute or two. You will destroy the carbon seal. Also... since you have a new top end... you need to put it in the water so you have a load on the engine. Running without a load will cause the cyl walls to glaze before the rings properly seat.

Ok thanks what would be the best way for me to start the motor to let it run so I can properly set the carbs?

Is it ok to tie it to the dock an let it run in neutral until I adjust the cArbs?
