I have a challenger 1800 that was flooded in the engine compartment. I'm wondering if i should part it out or just sell it. I may just sell everything with it. The engines filled full of water. I was running it on the lake the weekend before and was cleaning the inside of the boat and got an emergency phone call and forgot to turn off the water hose. when i came back the water was about 6 inches above the engines. The boat was in good working order. There are a few rips in the interior but everything worked. Best offer gets boat. I don't know if the engines can be drained and reused or needs replaced. Both engines ran fine before the water mishap. Has good Bimini top as well. Text 405-306-3862

no insurance? they would cover for comprehensive, but if not you can remove the plugs and ground them to the post by the airbox, then crank each engine over till no more water spits out, then spray pb blaster or wd 40 in each cylinder hole and then crank over again for a few seconds multiple times. The longer you wait, though, the more chance the engine will lock down permanently

I have insurance and they are paying it off. Yes, the engines were totally flooded. I went and bought another boat and don't have time to mess with it. I drained the water out of the boat but not the engines. It's been sitting about a week.

That sucks, at this point some rust has probably started and the engines need to be rebuilt but everything else is probably good. If you got all the water out and got the motors to fire then fogged them I would sell the boat as a runner with a disclosure that it runs but would be wise to rebuild. What kind of boat did you get? Fotos?
