Hi Everyone,
This seems like a common issue that has been covered before but I thought I'd start a new thread.
I just bought a '99 challenger. Everything runs perfectly but the fuel gauge is not working.
We had it out last weekend and ran the fuel low enough to where it beeped and the reserve light came on.

Does that suggest that the fuel sensor is working and that the problem is with the gauge itself or some other issue? Or could I still get a low fuel beep even with the fuel gauge not working?

Any ideas would be great!

Thanks

Probably just a float issue with the gauge.
I would pull the baffle and test the resistance by moving the float up and down while having an ohm meter hooked to the plug. You should see the resistance change as the float moves up and down inside the baffle. If not the float has lost it's magnet, or the F1 fuse inside the baffle is blown.
If all checks good then it is most likely the gauge or gauge connection.
