Well, we finally got the starter in the motor that the seller told me had the bad starter. I got all excited and figured good time for compression test on the cylinders. Starboard side motor forward cylinder is 150. Rear cylinder was 165. Really excited. Went to do port motor. Forward cylinder pulled plug, really bad corrosion and sand around electrode. Sinking feeling. We can hear the starter engaging but no spin. So I'n guessing seized motor. But on the offside I sprayed some Fogging oil and Penetrating oil into the cylinders to see if in a day it will spin. At that point I want to run compression to see what it is and where to go from there.
Now, this isnt my first boat. But it is my first Jetboat. I've had Waverunners before as well. My issue at this point is do I just say screw it and plan on a rebuild? You know hope for the best but plan for the worst? My big issue is that I cannot at this point with my shoulder even expect to be able to pull it and work on it. I can only stay in certain positions for less than 15 minutes before losing feeling in my arm (Thanks Uncle Sam).
So if you all would help me plan or gameplan these issues away that would be great.
Thanks again.
Patrick.

If it is seized that hard (Corrosion and sand are not a good indicator),,, I doubt any soaking will help.

Rings normally get broken before the engine turns over. Which basically means you have to open the engine up anyways...

I hope I am wrong and you have a GREAT Easter,,,,

That said, I see engine work in your future.

Thank you for the reply and of course you are correct. We pulled water from the bottom of the motor. So thats trash. It has been decided to just bite the bullet and order both plants so it will be a fresh re-power for the season.

It will be nice to have two fresh engines. It really is the best answer. Hope the turn around time is quick and you are able enjoy the money spent to get back onto the water.
