hello all i bought this boat in april of this year. my first seadoo jetboat. first replaced float in the fuel tank and the guage fuel guage works great now. next changed plugs fuel filters oil filters . welded exhaust manifolds. they were leaking . replaced ex manifold gaskets on starboard engine it was popping and leaking there. pulled pumps and rebuilt both of them new bearings seals. rebuilt both driveshafts with boots carbon rings and carrier with o rings. i have been using only pemium fuel with seafoam addative on every fill up carbs are working great. also replaced paddle wheel speed sensor that fixed the speedometer issue. i also installed a humminbird hdr 650 depth sounder in dashboard epoxied the transducer in the engine compartment in front of the drain plug in the center bottom point of the hull. it works great. the only thing i want to do in the spring is install a better sound system and the hydro turf. my family never had so much fun than we did with this great boat this past summer. with many more to come.

Congrats on the toy...

but... Seafoam is VERY hard on these engines. It's a solvent, and it displaces oil. The only additive you should use is an marine fuel stabilizer.

Congrats on the purchase. Sounds like you did plenty of work on the ski, nice to be able to do so. You learn and save money.

As Doc pointed out, additive in 2-strokes can be harmful. You are diluting the fuel/oil mixture. Which means less lubricant is getting to the engine.
