So I notice when I push the switch on the dash for the bilge pump nothing happens. Two questions, first were is the bilge pump located at? Second how do I go about testing the unit before I replace it? I did check all the fuses and they are all good

Thanks

The bilge pump sits in a low spot in the hull just in front of and in between the engines, next to the fuel tank, or at least it does on my 95. You can test the pump itself by tracing the wires back up and giving them 12VDC. I’ve seen a lot of automatic pumps that were direct wired rather than run through the factory switch, so the first thing you should do is trace the leads coming from the pump and see where they run.

I think I found it last night. Is it red and while in color? I will trace the wires back tonight and see if I am getting 12 volts or not. Should I be able to here the pump running when it is powered up?

I believe a red and white unit would be something aftermarket. Thats not unusual. The pumps run pretty quietly, so you’d have to listen pretty closely to hear some of them run, but you should definitely be able to hear it with the engine cover open.

So I testing the bilge pump and found no power going to it. Went back and checked over the switch and have no power going to the switch. Checked the fuses and they it was perfect. After screwing around with it for over a hour I found out that the fuse was not in the correct location. Someone had moved it over one spot into a "Empty" spot. Moved it back to the correct location and now the bilge pumps works great.
