I found what i thought to be a good deal on a 1998 Seadoo Sportster. This is a single 85 hp and only has 69 hours on the meter. When I looked at the boat at the marina I was hooked there was not a scratch, blemish fade or sticker out of place. Then the owner informed me they had fired the engine and they heard a noise. They shut down and the mechanic determined it to be a loose nut on the flywheel. So they ordered the part I placed a deposit on the boat with the intent if I'm not satisfied after a test drive deal off. So I wait after 2 weeks of phone calls (Marina is 30 miles from home so not feasible to drive there to check on progress.)I told repair is complete a test ride is planned. I check after 2 days of no call back and I'm told that now the starter is being replaced because it wasn't the right one?? Which then lead to a new coil being needed. Since the marina is not a Seadoo dealer they have to order through a dealer so a delay in getting the part. So another round of phone calls with promises. I recived word last night that repairs complete and they would test drive in the morning and call me. I finally reached the marina at 1:30 an was told they had the boat ready to do a test run. And I will recieve a call right after the run. No call back finally reach them at 4:00 and the front office girl who has been my contact all this time says hang on I think they are set with the boat. She comes back on to inform me that she just spoke with Ron the owner who is a hour away pick up another customers motor and pick up a seal for my boat???? I then be come a little irrate as I am totally at a loss as to what they are doing?? I let them know I would be at the marina tomorrow to see what the hell is going on. Any thoughts??? What do I look for???
