anyone help me ..

one of my engines is not working - here's the deal-

yesterday at the lake it just stop working. it would rev but would not move.
So I took it out of the water and checked to see if i sucked anything up.. nothing it was clean.. I did notice that I can turn the impeller by hand. can someone tell me what I can check next to see what might of broke to let the impeller spin by hand? also Im getting some black oil dripping out of the drain hole.. any help would be great..

shaft?

If your spinning the impeller by hand and the engine isn't moving, then you've either stipped the spines at the PTO hub or the impeller.
You can remove the shaft cover at the pto of the motor (usually held on by two plastic wing nuts), which will expose your shaft. Have someone under it to spin the impeller. If the impeller spins but the shaft doesn't, then it's your splines at the impeller side. The splines in the impeller or the shaft. If the shaft spins, then it's going to be at your pto side.

its the PTO flywheel.. the threads are stripped and flat. they are also flat on the crank too. i put another flywheel on to see if it would still catch and screw on and it does. Do you know how far i should tighten down the PTO flywheel ? its on there pretty tight now but i wasnt sure how tight or how far to go..

thanks

81 ft/lb. seadoo book says use anti-sieze, but seadoo orig used loctite. go figure. i don't think it is real crucial, because the engine is constantly tightening the flywheel, not loosening it.
