1998 GTX vs 2002 GTX

I'm interested in the difference between these 2 machines aside from cosmetic. I understand they both have 951 engines, same hull, and share a lot of parts. However I dont know what the difference is between them other than the 2002 is better.

2002 has a little nicer exterior trim, better electrical system and a better pipe to manifold seal.

Is it possible to upgrade a 98 if you had the parts from a 2002?

You really wouldn't upgrade. If you put the electrical parts from the 02 in the 98 you would be fine. You just can't mix and match like a 98 stator with a 02 MPEM.

My thought was that if I have to end up replacing a bunch of parts, I would rather go with the more up to date system. I know this would be a lot of work but would you mind telling me what all parts would have to be switched out to make sure it works?
