1998 GTX LTD blows 15 amp

My 1998 GTX LTD runs for about ten minutes and blows the 15 amp fuse on the MPEM. The dealer installed a new MPEM and charged me $700. Fuse still blows! I checked the resistance for the exciter and it's in spec. The three stator wires are not open. When running the battery voltage shows 14.3 V put in a new battery for good measure. The starter sounds bad, occasionally does not connect with the flywheel. Would the starter / solenoid / bendix cause the fuse to blow after running ? I checked the red wire from the solenoid to the MPEM and no high resistance (short). Fuse appears to blow based on run time consistently. Let me know if you have any ideas, I'll post the outcome if the dealer finds the issue.

hey..unplug the vts, see if works, if not, maybe rectifier has bad diode...have read, ehere they installed an external rectifier, without replace'n whole mpem...good luck, or possibly, a yellow wire/s heat'n up inside the mag assy...
