Oil Leak
We have two 1998 GTS's both with the 717 engine. Both have a small oil leak in the intake manifold cover. One leaked two drops every 24 hrs. the other one about half as much. I found that the intake manifold casting was a bit shallow, where it meets the o-ring on the rotary valve cover. The leak was up about 1/2 inch from the bottom of the nylon gear of the oil injection pump.
Oil gets to the gear from a small port in the bottom of the rotary valve cover. My question is, how much oil is there to be up on the nylon gear & what keeps it from filling up the chamber of the intake manifold & feeding into the intake of the engine???
I fixed the leak by using Permatex (The Right Stuff) gasket maker. I just used enough to stop the leak.
Thanks for any info Pedteg

The oil is seeping thru a small hole on the inside bottom, of the R V cover. It is like a tiny weep hole to let oil thru to nylon gear 1

oil leak aint good, chief. Pull the carbs tso its easier accessed or , remove the 6-allen bolts hold'n the 1/2 of intake plate. REmove it, and inspect the o-ring.

Or just "pinch" the oil line that feeds thte case (not the one with fiulter inline), and when you go ride, make sure to remove the "pinch"
