1998 gsx limited problems

great site you have here. i have been searching to find some info on a problem im having. I have come across a gsx limited and the starter makes a fast clicking noise when i try to turn it over. i took the plugs out and it makes the same noise but the engine wont turn over. is there an easy way to turn the engine over by hand to see if the motor is locked up? im curious to know if its a starter problem or if it will need rebuilt.

Sounds like the starter is the problem. Take it out and try it. It will probably work. I think if it has a coil that that is what is causing it.

follow the red cable from battery to inside the/a box. Find the post it attaches to, you'll see 2 post there, that your solenoid...jump that, with pliers, big gauge wire...etc, see what happens...

I discribed the sound wrong. it sounds more like a blender not so much like a clicking noise. I walked outside just now and was checking it out but it started raining on me. i didnt have much time to look at it but i couldnt even find the starter.
