Sorry Guys,,, I posted this in wrong place first time.... :ack:
Hello, First let me say I have learend alot just from searching and readng posts. I have a 1998 GS with single carb with an accel pump.
I took the advice and changed out the gray fuel hose with new, quality hose.
This is very good advice!!! Cleaned out selector valve. Itwas cr~ped up!!!
Well thats when I got to the carburator--- internal filter was cloged solid!!
I got that cleaned out and reassembled the carb.
While I had it apart I figured that I would change out the small hose that
feeds the accel pump. I BLEW thru the hose that feeds the accel pump and it seemed to be stoped up. I ran a small metal rod thru so to see how much of that hose cr~p that was in it. Well, upon doing that I found a peice of BRASS
That may or may not belong!!!!! It looks like it may be a restricter since it has a small hole thru it! Or it may be a broken off tube fitting. The one on the carb is not broken off!!! The accel pump seems to "squirt" well and seems to recharge good on the bench. I would like to know if this BRASS thing needs to be in the line or not???
I guess I may have found my anwser!!!!! Look here
http://www.seadoopartscentral.com/fi...ion_detail.asp
Part # 63 on the carb brake down page. Called JET-RECHARGE # 270500348
If I do not use it will the motor flood out when "reving" motor?
Or will the motor just have more "jump" on take off??
Thanks in advance Mark B.
