I have a 1997 sea doo do 787 And the vts guage is unresponsive to changes in the trim. When the key goes on the dial goes to the top and stays there. I have checked the resistance coming from the vts housing and it shows the correct resistance based on where the trim is at. The guage is getting power when the key is on. I tried replacing the guage and the new one does the exact same thing. I noticed that I get no resistance reading from the black and brown, and black and White (Same color wires that leave the vts housing) wires at the gauge with the key on or not. So basically I’m not getting a signal through the MPEM from the vts housing to the gauge. What does the MPEM even do with that signal anyways? Seems kinda stupid to not just have those signal wires go strait to the guage and turn the guage on and off with the power separately. So I guess my main question is if I can just bypass the MPEM with those signal wires and the guage will work properly?? Anyone have any insight? I don’t really wanna replace the MPEM just because one small function isn’t working haha. Thanks
