I went and bought a very nice dual Mikuni 46mm race carb setup for my ski, only problem is the guy that sold them to me on Ebay did not include an install guide, all I got was the carbs and ported / polished rotary valve cover (intake manifold).

I cannot for the life of me figure out which ports on the fuel pump (I'm assuming it's the fuel pump) go to: Incoming fuel, Return line, carb 1 fill, carb 2 fill, vacuum port on the engine. I was making an assumption when I hooked up the fuel lines to my carbs as you will see in the pictures, so I have no clue if I was right at this point in time.

I have not ridden my ski in almost 2 years now because I have been unable to locate the information I need, and don't have the training or tools to time the engine.

probably something you dont want to hear, but...if you wanna run those carbs, your gonna nead to do a complete system to motor, to achieve, what I think your after....pipe, milled head, ..etc.
Just those carbs alone, ur gonna spend more time "on" the water, with seat off, tuning it, then rip'n around, along w/ probably, not any faster than, hav'n stock carbs on....

Thanks for the info. The guy that had them before me said he ran them on a completely stock (except for the carbs) 787 and got an extra 5 to 10 MPH out of his ski (which I thought was a decent performance increase for the $350 I paid for them).

If the previous owner got that much out of the carbs, ask him for the magic wand that he forgot to send ya.

Seriously, that is a lot to expect from just carbs. I would contact the previous owner for a diagram of how he had them connected to gain the maximum from the seadoo. It might make it more responsive when connected and tuned properly, but it will also like to visit the gas station more frequently when your finished.

Keep us posted on how you make out.

Thanks Karl, if I could remember his email address I would be sending him an email, but I bought them almost 3 years ago and Ebay doesn't let you search that far back for items you won (at least I don't think they do). I screwed up when I pulled the old carbs and intake off, forgot to hold the rotary valve in place and it subsequently fell off. And it's been sitting not running for over 2 years now, mainly because of my last job (OTR truck driver) and I was gone from home for all but 7 days last year.

The more I read the more I think I'll just put the piece of junk OEM carbs back on, get it running properly and then probably try to sell it, since the only (2) Seadoo dealers within 50 miles of my house don't and won't work on 2 strokes, or anything more than 10 years old. Maybe I'll get enough out of it for a nice down payment on the GTX Limited I want.

You could re list the mod carbs on e-bay...you never know who might buy them. If you need help getting it running again let us know where you are and we'll try to help out.

We also have manuals in the seadoo library. It cost like $10.95 a month to either read it on line as a pdf file or download it and print off for your own personal and private use. Click on the "manual" link for details. If you need to rebuild the carbs,we
have parts available from our sister company too for a fair price. Click on the "parts" link at the top of the page. The parts link also has a great diagram of how most things go together. It works as a good visual and you can look for free.

Keep us posted on your progress. We're here for ya.
