1997 Challenger: What model Sea Doo's will these motors swap into?

A guy I know is wanting to sale a 1997 Speedster to me because the previous owners never came back for it. To make a long story short he has a shop and 3 years ago a customer brought in it to get repaired and when he told the owner it needed new engines the owner said go ahead and do it. Needless to say 3 years later he never came back to get it and the guy who repaired it was stuck with the money for the new motors and has had it sitting in his lot uncovered for 3 years with the new motors in it. It is sitting on the Sea doo trailer and I figure I could buy it for about $1000. For that price I figure I could pull and shelf the motors and sale the trailer whats left of the hull etc... and not be in to deep for 2 brand new engines that came from SBT. Before I do this naturally I was wondering as to what years and and model Sea Doos they will interchange with if any. Thanks guys!!!!!

No idea. Your title says Challenger, and your post says Sportster.

Post a pic, and we will tell you. But the simple answer is... whatever it has... it will swap directly into a ski with the same engine. If you are looking for a full list... you need to do your own research. But here's a list of skis, and their engines.

If your buddy has a shop.... and he intends to do a "lien sale"... then he needs to file the proper paperwork, and get a title release, otherwise he can be changed with selling stolen property.

Sorry it is a Challenger for sure made a typo at midnight. Now that I started thinking about all the drama that would come from the sale it's not worth it. I know with cars if you repair one and for 5 years the owner doesn't come back to get it you can't legally sale it unless you apply for a title through the state. At that point the state will mail a certified letter to the current owner stating that you are intending to take ownership of the vehicle and at that point they have a right to object to the transfer or agree. They have 6 weeks to respond or that are ruled against by judgement and a new title issued to the shop that did the repairs. Alotttttttttttttttttt of drama to save a few hundred bucks. Also thanks for the source of the info pertaining to different ski models.
