Hey all, the boat is finally out of storage and Im in the process of doing spring things like getting the seats all redone before the short MI boating season (Keith from seadooupholstery's stuff is awesome by the way! highly recommend!)

Anyways I got a female 12volt outlet for free from work so I was going to wire it into the steering wheel cubby for charging phones, and maybe a pump for tubes, radio etc... obviously I'm going to put a fuse inline and do it right, but I was wondering if there is an existing wire I can tie into under the cubby container where all the other wiring is? I see people wiring up radios and I assume they are just tying into a wire down there instead of running a separate dedicated wire

sorry for the wall of text, thanks for any help!

I don`t know about your model, but I have a 12v source and an accessory lead both fused at the MPEM, The accessory plug in behind my dash and the 12 volt source is in the glove box

Awesome! I'll give it a look, gonna have to save that manual as well, I swear I saved a copy last time but it disappeared... but what you're saying is that it was pre-existing wires on your boat from factory for doing this or probably a factory installed radio? that'd make it real easy to do, thanks for the link!

yes in our challenger 1800, the radio was existing as well as the 12V source... I`m pretty sure I saw a orange wire/black wire accessory plug for your model in that shop manual... there should be a list of connections numbers and placement. you`ll have to read and look closely to see what it says...

look in the fuse panels in the MPEM and see what`s labeled also...

Ended up being a little challenging because the outlet I had was broken and kept blowing fuses (confused the hell out of me for a while) didnt need the inline fuse due to the factory fuse block just needing a fuse, went to the auto parts store and got a new dual 12v socket kit for 7 bucks, score! super easy to wire in with the existing wire... thanks again Pale Rider!
