1997 Speedster Oil LED on -> possible issues?
Out running the boat yesterday and the oil LED light is came on intermitently. If I shut the motors down the LED goes out and stays off for awhile. Sometimes if you slow down the LED goes out. The tank about half full and the motors sound fine; even get some smoke on startup. It was not rough water conditions when this occurred.

Manual states:
Injection Low Oil Level Pilot Lamp:
The pilot lamp turns on when the injection oil level is low in oil reservoir or
if a wire/connector of this electrical circuit is not properly connected. Fill reservoir
as soon as possible or contact an authorized dealer.

So is the tank not full, the motors not getting oil or something else??

Sounds like an electrical issue to me. Probably a bad ground somewere or the sensor is going bad or plugged up. If the reservoir is half full, it has plenty of oil and with it smoking, you should have plenty of oil.

You can test if the oil is working by grabbing the lever on the oil pump and rotating it all the way open. Your motor should start fogging the mosquitos out. From the shop manual:

Low-Level Oil Sensor
Page 1: The sensor sends the signal to the low-oil level light in the fuel gauge. The bottom of the sensor has a small reservoir with 2 small holes underneath to let the oil enter inside and 1 at the top to let the air enter to allow the oil to flow out.

Fair warning, if you pull the sensor out, you may be inviting a leak and the sensors are not cheap.
