OK guy's here is the deal. I good friend of mine has a 1997 Seadoo speedster that I am interested in buying, but here is the deal. After siting over the winter the batteries died so he used a jump box to start it and NO problem at all starting, but he left it on while batteries charged back up. Then it stoped running took it into the seadoo dealer and they diagnosed it to be the 12v packed burned out the (electron module). Now here is the thing he is willing to sell the boat to me for $2200 the way it is, but also guarentees me that if I purchase the electon module and there is anything else wrong he is willing to reimbursed me for the boat and module. Does anyone know where I may find an (electron module) from what I have found from seadoopartscentral.com the module runs $1,202 but includes alot of other items. In the scamatics uner electrical box it is items 26-43. Thanks for any help...

Sticker shock...>

I read your post about 20 minutes ago, but after you saying the mpem (multi-purpose electronic module) was $1200 bucks........I freaked out!....I thought you had gotten confused....

So, I did some research. It is that much and this module was only made for a handfull of boats, including the Challenger 1800.

If he sticks by his deal, your getting a good deal. As long as the boat is in real good shape.....you know, if it has seats.

thanks snipe, the other day I left (allthingscustom) a PM about rebuilding it but he has yet to get back to me (which is ok) but do you think there is any other alternative or somewheres to buy it other then seadoopartscentral.com.

Mpem

www.seadoosource.com has listings of rebuilt MPEMs you might check there. Also, Ive heard that the MPEM is not really all that complicated, a good electrical tech (like at a radio shop) could remove the plastic goop off the base and replace the 1 or 2 burned out components easily with standard electrical parts.

Thanks jay for the heads up on seadoosource, but I checked there before posting and none of his aftermarket MPEM's will work and he does not have one to sell, but thanks anyways. I may check into a local radio shop though...

check ebay- someone has a 96 parts boat who will sell you what you need-sorry i don't remeber the user name but I saw it yesterday on ebay

Thanks guy's for all the input, but after talking to Mike (allthingscustom) on this site he will be rebuilding my current MPEM back to new for a whopping $175 plus shipping. Thanks again guy's...
