Hi all,
First, let me thank you for ALL of the time spent on this site by contributors to help others (complete strangers in most cases). The expertise shown in many of the posts has been unsurpassed.
My 1997 Speedster Cuts out above 4400 RPM (port engine) but continues to run when the throttle is reduced. I pulled the carb and disassembled it (very complicated piece of work). I made sure all of the jets and the interior passages were open and blew all out with air.
Does anyone know what could possibly be causing this cut out at this particular RPM? The other engine runs fine, so I was eliminating a fuel delivery issue? Any help would be appreciated.
Also, this season the coded key is acting up. When I put it on the receptacle I don't get the normal beep. If I shift gears and try to start it gives a weak beep and when shifted back to neutral it will crank and start. I cleaned the surfaces with a scotchbrite pad but it didn't help.
