I have read of people recommending to rebuild the carbs as preventative maintenance instead of when you have a problem. I am all for keeping my toys in tip top shape and if this is the recommendation then I will certainly comply. Just figured I would get some input on the matter. Thanks in advance!

There's no reason to pull the carbs unless there are some running issues. Problems generally don't happen like flipping a light switch. There will slowly start to have some issue. At that point... just pull the carbs, and clean them. 90% of the time... you don't need anything that is in "The kit".

With that said, there's no harm in giving them a good cleaning. BUT... DO NOT buy aftermarket kits. They never seem to run right. If you use ONLY OEM Mikuni parts... then you can clean them, set the parameters to the specs in the book... and they will run perfect when bolted back on.

No issues at the moment that I can tell. On my big boat I operate with the idea of it isn't broken don't fix it but I had read of people having oil mixture issues.... Just trying to be as proactive as I can be. When you talk of just cleaning the carbs what is the best way of going about doing this, sorry I am new to these motors and trying to learn as much as possible!
