I have a 97 seadoo Gs with a 718 motor. she runs great....but when at or near full throttle she just cuts out the engine dies and it will restart and I can go again then same thing. I AM SURE THAT THERE ARE MANY THINGS THAT CAN CAUSE THIS, but does anyone know the most common cause for this so I can have a good starting point to diagnose this?

any suggestions are appreciated.

thanks and happy boating on the fourth!

you can get near full throttle ok, but at wot it dies? fuel flow. first try with reserve instead of main selected. if that works, it is the selector valve or pickup anti-siphon valve in tank. if no diff, it is a partially plugged fuel filter or carb problem. still grey fuel lines? change them. then clean out the little filter in the carb.

Welcome to the seadoo forum Tim. It sounds like you need to remove the carburetors and clean them. If you're careful and don't tear or damage the diaphragms you won't need to buy a rebuild kit. Pay attention to the internal filters too. If you have gray fuel lines you need to replace them with black fuel lines available from auto parts stores like Auto Zone. Measure the length you need and bring a sample with you so you get the correct size. Be sure to use “1/4 ID Black Fuel Line” Replace one at a time so you don’t get them mixed up. If you need clamps replace them too. Use small stainless steel clamps also from the auto parts store.
