My winter project here in New Zealand is to try an eliminate cavitation and hitting the rev limiter on WOT take offs from a stand still.

Is this even possible on these boats?

I want to be able to hit the throttle and just accelerate as quite as possible.

What happens is, i push WOT, it revs, it takes off, it hits the rev limiter, i back off to 3/4 throttle, and planes to a top speed of about 45 mph. usually in about 5 sec's. Longer with more people or pulling tube/wakeboard.

This is what its got, and what I've done:

Recent rebuilt motor
Rebuilt jet pump
Retro fit old style bearing carrier and seals to drive shaft
New wear-ring
Skat Trak swirl 14.5/22.5 impeller, 3/4 worn on edges, but under 0.040" clearance (just), no dings or such, re pitched slightly to about 15-15.5/22.5.

Still hits limiter on take off.

Any guys using skat trak 14.5/22.5 hitting limiter on WOT take off's?

Any other ideas? Different impeller? Rebuild impeller?

I don't want it just to rev, I want it jump out of the hole (if you know what i mean). Possible?

I would not drop the pumps just for this, but a there is a neoprene seal ring that can be placed at the pump to prevent air from leaking in.google seadoo neoprene seal to find it.

Someone with more experience on the impellers may be able to answer if the impellers are the cause.
