Hello, I had the boat out last night docked it for and hour or so went to start it ,fired up then it died, so when to restart it and you can hear the start spinning but its not turning the engine over, Sounds like the bendix is not engaging . I jumped it and checked the battery and its good still same issue, Is there anything else I should be looking at being new to this boat ownership. Also does anyone know and recommend a start for this boat/engine. Thanks for any help/

Had the same thing happen with my 787 on my 97 XP. Removed the starter and cleaned the hell out of the bendex and then greased the shaft. Worked great.

Also - do not jump start these boats! Serious risk of frying the MPEM.

2nd for rebuild the original starter - clean all the important parts like brushes and lube the bendix and reassemble. will work way better than an aftermarket
