1997 Sea Doo GTS Deflector cover

Had a "friend" wreck one of my Sea Doo's 1997 GTS. Ran it into my pontoon boat. Great!! I have new deflector cover---is there an easy way to remove the screws or does the storage compartment lid come off?? There are 3 screws holding the deflector on- two of the broken ones are still tight and part of them is sticking out. UGLY Of course new deflector is different shade of violet.
