Hello to all

on the last ride of the year the ski just quit. Was able to restart it when i switched to reserve but it only lasted a few seconds. Was 20 yds from the dock and went in under battery while cranking the starter. I was tinkering with it last night. When i put the lanyard in it i only get a momentary red light next to the yellow triangle, no beeps and 12v low showing. I have charged the battery, repaired the small ground wire to the battery, cleaned the plugs, checked compression, I have good blue spark but no fire. I do believe that the carbs are clogged as i can smell no fuel ( tank half full ). The dealer wants 4 hours labor plus parts to repair $85 p/hr if they can be repaired.

Must the carbs be removed to replace the small filters in each carb?
If i take the carbs off is it a major job with many fuel/oil adjustments to concern myself about?
Yes it has the gray lines which i will replace.
Also i noticed it is missing the small cylindrical spring under the rave valve cap.

Ski ran nicely with only a small hesitation at take off.

Port side engine mount is broken. How is the place that is listed on here for ordering parts?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

bypass the fuel selector switch, and see if she fires, and/or, clean/replace the selector switch along with replace'n the grey lines and also, take carbs off and being a 97', wouldn't hurt to rebuild the carbs. If you take ur time, maybe "jaut" down some notes/pictures, you be-able to do-it urself...

Hey slim. You do have to take the carbs off and apart to get to those filters. You need to get that spring for the RAVE valves also, will affect performance.

As for the fuel system, look at this thread. http://seadooforum.com/showthread.php?t=5563

Parts site here is good. SeadooWarehouse with RIVA Motersports is one of the biggest company's out there for all kinds of parts. They will have what you want.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies and links.
The local Sea Doo shop "Pasch Marine" in Easton, PA. mentioned $85 p/hr labor rates taking 4hrs plus parts if the carbs were rebuildable. He mentioned that he can get a set of either refurbed carbs or new for a very comparable price and for less labor out of California. He has been doing marine work and Sea Doos since their inception. Since time is not on my side i think i mjay drop it off for them to do it. I will take care of the broken mount and clean the raves as this seems like a regular PM. This is our first ski and the family really likes it and would like to add another similar ski to the fold as we think it would be more fun.
The Battery charged up just fine and when the lanyard is installed you get no beeps but the 12v low is not there anymore. It did start last night but as since i didnt have it hooked up to any water i just shut it down. Fortunately the boat and Ski are able to fit comfortably in our heated garage so i can tinker any time.

Cool. Having the ski in the garage is nice!

If your gonna take to them it's probably gonna be more than $500 for the carb rebuild if that is what he is charging. Carb kit usually run from $30 to $50 per carb. Only way a carb could be "unrebuildable" is if the outside components such as the casing or where some of the fitting that are molded are broken or cracked. Rebuilding the carbs will not be that hard to do yourself if you have a little patience and some mechanical ability. With this forum combined with a shop manual, you should be able to do anything.

If your not getting the two beeps but everything is running ok and no warning signs, your buzzer could be bad. These do go bad from time to time and I would recommend replacing it because it is the same buzzer that goes off if you over heat the engine.

Garaged skis

It is definately a plus having all the stuff in a climate controlled environment. In the garage are two Triumph cars, a 20' Mariah bow rider on trailer, 97GTX W/trailer and our 08 Tribeca. A pit for working underneath and all the tools a shop could ever need. Time is the issue here.
Concerning the carb removal i was more concerned about the unknown. I know to label the fuel hoses as they will be replaced anyway. Are they a direct bolt on/off no worries about timing/or rotary gears and the like. I know my triumph carbs well maybe this will be similar.

Thanks fellas

Just take your time doing it. Do the fuel lines one at a time so you don't get confused. We have shop manuals here on the site that can download if your a premium member. We also have the carb manuals here.

Might have to cut off the original hose clamps and replace with standard type.

Check out that link I posted and you'll see what I'm talking about.
