Good day guys. Hopefully you can find a min to help me out to figure out what is wrong with my Challenger.
When I got it, on occasion it would rev up high, 7000rpm, lots of smoke and it was only going like 15 miles an hour. Later I found out that I have big stone stuck in the impeller of the jet pump. Got it removed and boat got crazy fast. Well, not for too long. We went camping this week end. I couldn't get her started for like 5 min, and then it was smoking like chimney, motor was only revving up to 4000rpm's, and no go.:cuss: Fricking canoe;s were almost passing me.
What do you think it can be?
Thanks for your time
Dzmitry

Well, you need to take a flash light and look inside the pump at the impeller and wear ring. It's much easier to see if you you remove the steering nozzle. Or get under the boat and look through the tunnel. Check for the clearance between the impeller and the wear ring it should be no more than .040" (about the thickness of a dime). Also check for damage to the wear ring and impeller.
