1997 challenger 1800 computer module problem

I purchased a 1997 Seadoo Challenger 1800 one year ago. Ever since, the same 5 amp fuse continues to blow. I took it to a mechanic who told me that just based upon his knowledge of that boat and the specific fuse that was blowing, that he's 99% sure that the computer module contains a short and needs replaced. Does it make sense that he can be so sure without even looking at the engine? Is there something else that could be causing the problem?

He recommended that I look online for a replacement computer module but I haven't been having much luck finding one. Can anyone recommend where I can purchase a new module? Or can my old one be repaired? I did read on the internet about "conversion kits"; would that be a good option?

Thanks

Hi Minnetonka4me

Do you repair or sell new or conversion kits for the computer module part # 204470076 for my 1997 Seadoo Challenger 1800 or do you know of someone who does? Thanks

Al

Yes my brother has a OEM replacement for $1850, I also do conversion kits that are a bit cheaper. It all depends on what I have to spend for the MPEMs needed for the conversion.

PM me if you are interested.
