1997 5818 gts looking to buy the guy says it runs about 100 yds then gos to idle

he was told it was the fuel system but i suspect mabey electronics what do you all think i am new to forum and new to seadoos

Probably needs a carb rebuild with only genuine mikuni parts, also probably bad fuel filter assembly and fuel selector switch, they both go bad and start to suck air. Also The fuel line on these skis was not meant for ethanol, they degrade and make a green goo that plugs the carbs up.

i have been reading the post on carb rebuild so far it is very good i will go all thru the fule system mine has a two cylinder engine but i think only a single carb but have not got it out of the barn yet also what is the compression on these

150 is perfect 130 is marginal and 120 it's done for.

Without more info it's very hard to diagnose the problem. Could be fuel delivery, electrical, or something as simple as an exhaust leak in the engine compartment that chokes out the motor under throttle

where do i buy genuine mukuni carb kits how do i find what kit i need and do these have a onboard computer ?
