So I had my SPX and GTI out for the first time today. They were given to me from my dad as he no longer wanted them and they had been running last year. Now today the GTI ran fine but the SPX... If I kept the throttle below half it ran fine, but if I tried to do it any higher it would lose power and then stall.

So being a newby in terms of fixing these (dad could afford to take them to the shop) I can't. Are there any ideas that would cause this or what I should look for?

And is there an attachment that I can use to attach my hose to the machine so that I can turn it on and have water into the engine.

due compression test, get out old gas, new plugs, recheck all connections, check filter/s, and if know how, might wanna go thru the carbs, and grey fuel lines...replace them.

The Gas is new I filled it from empty today. How do I run a compression test? And I read about the Grey Fuel lines. I looked and mine are all black now that I could see. Or will there be some in the carb?

Comp gauge from any auto parts store, "harbor freight" 5 buks. Remove the plugs, then bottom out end in plug hole, while other is exposed, then hit button, like your try'n to start it. Then repaeat other hole. Let it turn until needle on gauge stops moving. Ideal is 150psi.
Theres no lines "inside" the carb/s, but there is a filter. Click "PARTS" on top of this page, plug ur boat year/model, then you'll see blown up diagram of your carb. Not as bad/hard job as it looks.
