Hello all, I am new here and a total green horn on PWC's. I got my first one about a week ago. It is winter here in WV so wait till spring to learn how to ride one. I know nothing at all about these PWC's so plan on seeing a lot of me asking questions even after I search the forum bear with me please, ok 1996 SPI it's a 2 seater very nice cond it looks new ok. Are they any good?
Any tips you folks can give me greatly appreciated. Thanks

First ski....

For your first ski, if it's in great shape, it'll be a nice ski for a while. I say for a while because it's got the 587cc engine and you'll quickly get used to it and want to go a bit faster.

But, it's a nice reliable engine and fast enough for you to have fun!.......that's where it counts.

Use it for 3 seasons, then you'll probably want to get a larger motor/PWC....

I get what your saying

Hey seadoosnipe thanks for the info, sounds like I should have done a little research about these things before I jumped into one. It is in great shape, thats why I got it. The guy had a boat I was looking at and I changed my mind about it when I saw the ski and impulse got me. So this thing is a beginners / kids ski then. Is there any thing I should know about maintaining it? Or common problems? Hey thanks again!

kids' ski?.......

Nah, I don't think I'd say it's a kids ski. For your first, you'll have a blast. But with the natural thrill seeking of human nature, it won't be long you'll be sayin, "I want to go faster and jump higher". That's what I meant.

So, have fun with it. You'll be thrilled at first. But, with the smaller 587, you'll want more power after a year or two.

Hey, yeah sorry there not trying to put words in your mouth that was all me and how I see things. I cant say much about the ski yet still winter time, but I am sure your right about it and if I have a blast for even one summer that will be great! When spring hits I can try it in the Kanawaha River. Going to be a long winter with a new toy waiting to try.

Wet suit!!

I don't know.....living in "West By God" Virginia it's cold. But, with a new toy, I'd be itching so bad to give it a try, I'd be puttin on a wet suit.........:ack:
