Running my used 1996 Seadoo Speedster for about a year. Suddenly I put it in the water and only one motor runs. Two beeps on the keyfob. Selenoid clicks once. Will not jumpstart at the selenoid when trying to bypass. After repeated testing of the motors, both now have the same issue. Normal keyfob. One click selenoid. No action to motor. Checked all wires and 0.03 resistance on all paths. Batterys are both 12.4 V plus to the selenoid. Fuses are all fine. Even replaced a bunch for the heck of it.

May actually be the starter buttons just clicking once and simply not returning power back to the selenoid. Any way to bypass that safely?

Motors turn with ease with plugs out.

Last resort is to remove and test starters but seems weird to lose 2 starters in a week.

Only possible idiot moves on my part (other than buying a GD boat), Couldnt find official Rotax Etec 2 stroke. So put in the first API-TC oil i could find. Hope this wouldnt cause problems as the oil going to one motor first, then the other one.

Any thoughts from the forum?

Had a starter ordered immediately as I first suspected it was the issue.

Swapped it out and the starboard is now back in action!

Next one getting replaced on Friday

If you could not jump start the starter directly from the battery,,,then the starter is failty.
