1996 speedster help?

Little background, i just bought this boat, changed pump oil. previouse owener just replaced wear rings, polished props never had boat out. Engines start good and pull hard once on a plane. Bad cavitation problem? Seams to be equil on both engines? i am going to pull pumps tomorrow and check wear rings and reseal pump to seal. what should i look at in threw hull seals? doent leak water. also engines pull hard to 6700 rpms, but only 45 mph? how fast app should this boat run? thatnks for any help.

thats good sign, with it not leak'n, due compression check also. 150psi is excellent.

i will, but shows no signs of lower power get to 45 mph as soon as it quits cavitating. pulls against rev limmiter good, just cavitates? how fast sould this boat run?

twin 717's...low/mid 50's.
Wear ring clearance, no more than 1mm.

Hi there

I have a 1996 sportster, single 90 hp and i had it doing 48 mph this weekend with me in the boat and 45 with me and wife and I am a big guy 350. Plus I still think I can do even better. Like a hot rod tinker with it. Every time I take it out it just getts better and more fun.

Well just got time to take it back out today. pulled pumps and no sealant at all. wear rings a litle more that 1 m. needs replaced didnt have rings so sealeed it and took it out today. cut cavitation alot!! 48 mph on white caps. next step get wear rings and i sould be in good shape.
