I am new to this but have always had friends with boats. I am looking at a 96 speedster and wanted to get some advice from the pros. What should I look for, what should I be aware of, and what are bad things about the 96 seadoo? Thanks for your advise?

No one has feedback? What to look for? What to e worried about? Things that are unique to the 1996? Thanks for your time!

Those questions are answered here almost daily. Browse around and you sill see. What you should look for, inspect it good and take it out on a water test, go for a while and let it get to full temp. Check all the features. Then do an engine compression test. That will get you started.

Thanks, RFoster130, I appreciate your help. I will look around and see what I can find. I live in Milton, FL and will use it in brakish and salt water. I have heard seadoo's are not the best in salt water? I can't seem to find anything on here to back that up so I thought I would ask. Thanks for your help!

I live here on the West coast in Vancouver where people regularly use Seadoos in salt water. Just make sure it flushed before parking it for the winter or since you probably don't have to park it for the winter, just do it regularly as part of your maintenance.

I think Sea Doo speedster's are awesome, they have 2 motors and I read on here some people managed to get to 59mph on them, so they are very quick. Definitely dont need to buy anything more expensive, also the motors and easily worked on and easy to get ahold of you need to ever replace one, you can get one at shopsbt.com

You should do a compression test, thats what I read on here, from the posts you want at least 135 on each cylinder..

good luck
