1996 seadoo xp

Ive got a 1996 seadoo xp and it starts perfectly fine out of water but right when it goes it water to will crank and start 3 time out of 10 and those 3 times it will bogg out.
I feel like I’ve done everything and it still doesn’t run it water.


Any suggestions on what to do? ( HELP)

I would check compression with a good gauge first.
150 psi is perfect and 120 psi the engine is shot.

What happens if I figure out it’s shot?

New top end at a minimum. New gaskets, oversized pistons and cylinders bored to fit oversized pistons.

If Cylinder Compression is within spec, then too much Intake Rotary Valve Clearance (Wear) will cause those symptoms also.

I’m not the original poster, but didn’t know this was a thing. So is that as simple as getting a new valve disc/plate?

The Cover Plate needs to be machined back to tolerance.

SBT has an exchange program.

Only need new Valve Rotary Blade if it's damaged.
