Ski has been to certified repair shop. New prop, engine rebuild. Cold starting bogs down and wont go over five miles an hour for a good five to ten minutes then will pick up and run great for 20 or 30 minutes then start to die and make popping sound like back firing. Check it out and the hull is full of water.
Really need to know how to tell where the water is coming from.

One of the first places I would check would be the rubber boot that seals the prop shaft to the hull. Make sure it has a clamp on it and that it is tight. Also check for any tears or cuts on the boot. Other than look for damage to the hull. One sure fire way to find the leak may be to fill the bottom of the hull with a little water then look for leaking water from the outside of the boat.

i assume it didn't leak like a sieve before taking it to the man? basic rule of thumb; if you fix something and something else went wrong immediatly, YOU JUST DID IT!! he probably hooked up the hoses wrong from pump and coolant hose is pumping water into hull. the 3 hoses to the jet pump are difficult to switch, but nothing is impossible. if this is the case, you also overheated your motor.

I agree...I would check out what the service shop did or return it to them to get it corrected.

And that warmup time sounds fishy...I would take it to a different shop next time...

I honestly don't know how shops can give stuff back to their customers when they run crappy like you describe. they should know that the item is coming right back and they aren't going to get paid for the next job.

I hear so much crap about what some of these seadoo dealers do or don't do! I think the customers should write letters to seadoo and complain. These so called "Certified Dealers" give the legit ones a bad name and reputation.

Have a 96 XP, had same problem. Check purple exhaust pipe, bottom side. mine had a Quarter size "plug" corroded, removed it and had a heli-arc weld repair, cost me $40.00
