Hi, I have a 96 seadoo speedster with twin 717 engines. I had one engine that if you disconnected the front mag side plug wire the engine would die out. The pto cylinder was not firing properly. I had it diagnosed at a seadoo dealer and theysaid the cylinder was loading up or fouling out the plug. I went through the carbs made all adjustments and the same thing! Good compression, good spark. What I found was that that cylinder head had a heli coil inserted in the bad cylinder. When I sprayed soapy water around the spark plug gasket/base with the ngine running there was a spray of soapy water and looked to be sucking in air which would explain the dead cylinder. There was a heli coil inserted in that plug hole. Whats the recommended repair from this point? Im hoping that would take care of the cykinders poor performance. Thanks for your help!!
