1996 seadoo gtx -acceleration problems

I recently purchased a 96 seadoo gtx. I had to have the lanyard reprogrammed to get it to turn over. Now that I got it started it doesent want to get going much past idle speed. If I let it run for 3 to 5 minutes it will stop bogging and take off. The warming up doesn't seem to be the answer , it will somtimes act up all over again wile riding. I ran my 1st 2 tankfuls thrue it this past weekend. the second tankful would bogout if I gave it more than 3/4 throttle, While the 1st tak full bogged out if I ran it at mid throttle. Also probabbly unrelated the low fuel lite and "LOW FUEL" sighn stay on even with a fresh tankful

hey....sounds like the carb/s need some attention. you can order rebuild kit thru this website at the "PARTS" tab....:cheers:

It sounds like you need to remove the carburetors and clean them. If you're careful and don't tear or damage the diaphragms you won't need to buy a rebuild kit. Pay attention to the internal filters too. If you have gray fuel lines you need to replace them with black fuel lines available from auto parts stores like Auto Zone. Measure the length you need and bring a sample with you so you get the correct size. Replace one at a time so you don’t get them mixed up. If you need clamps replace them too. Use small stainless steel clamps also from the auto parts store.

Also, here are the adjustments for the carbs;

The High Speed screw is set to "0". These have a plastic cap on them to keep them from being turned any more than 1/4 turn. The Low Speed screw is set to 1 1/2 turns. The screw has a pin through it. If you need to adjust the idle speed do NOT use the low speed screws to adjust it. Use the IDLE Screw to adjust both carbs at the same time. When adjusting the carbs be sure both carbs are in sync.
I hope this info helps you out.
Keep us posted on you progress.

Bogging.........

When is the last time you cleaned your RAVE valves. The 787cc engine, although one of the best, will not perform well if the RAVE's are sticking. Sounds like yours may be sticking closed.:cheers:
