or....you can probably just take your starter apart. make sure you have a decent amount of meat on your brushes and that the armature contact point isn't gouged up. lightly sand the part of your armature where the brushes contact. clean out the area between the brass/copper segments. clean all the black dust out of the inside of your starter. put grease on the bearings and helix. put your starter back together and most likely it will work just fine and last for 2 or 3 more years.
