still the same problem. the dang thang tries to start every time i hook up the battery. so far, disconnected the start-stop switch, same result. disconnected the emergency shut off switch, no changes. unpluged every wire i could find in the main box one at a time, same result. took out the 3 amp fuse, and now it is ok, but it wont turn over at all. is the main thing the fuse is connected to fried? help!!

It sounds like the starter solenoid is bad. The battery + goes direct to the solenoid and when you push the start button it connects the + from the battery to the starter. Replace the solenoid.

Karl I know that you are very, very good with these But reread and I bet you may have a different answer. but ok prove me wrong again and I will just have to be quite.

The solenoid is directly connected to the Battery and the starter. If the solenoid is bad and is acting like it is connected it will direct the power from the battery( connected on one side) to the starter( connected on the other side). The start switch is what causes the solenoid to connect the power under normal conditions. The bad solenoid is simulating a jumper wire from side to side of the solenoid...causes the starter to turn over.

starter engaged

Let me see if I have this correct. The only time the ski cranks by itself is when the small solenoid wires are connected to the solenoid? You have disconnected the the stop/start switch on the handlebar and the key post and still have the same results? If this is true then .............
module the fuse plugs into is bad or......
you have a pinched wiring harness or....
someone has got creative and swithed wires around in the harness connecters somewhere along the line.

Very close to my thoughts allso. :agree: I could not confirm as this is new to me and I do not have access to all the manuals so I am limited to the confidence that I can give you. I am sure I would be more confident in the answers that I would leave if I had the access to manuals. It is kind of like the blind leading the blind without having a manual. Good luck Robin
