1996 GTX hard starting

I have a 1996 GTX that has been maintainance free until recently. If it sets a few days it will not start. If I get some gas into the carburator or into the cylinder, I can get it started and it runs fine and it starts perfectly for that day. But if it sits for several days it will not start until I get some gas in the carburator and "prime it ". The main filter is clean and I have gas coming thru the line to the carburator. I don't know if there is a fuel pump on this model or if the carburators have a filter problem.

Yes, the fuel pump sounds like the check vavles have gave way. You need to rebuild the pump at least. It's on the MAG side carb. Also, if you still have the grey fuel lines,.......they need to be replaced.
 
Do you have a seadoo shop manual? If not here’s an idea for you. You could join as a "premium member". As a premium member you can down load a authentic seadoo manual from the seadoo manual library. In the library is a variety of manuals for almost all years and models. You can view as many as you like on line as a PDF file, or download it and print it for your personal and private use. There are operator manuals and repair manuals for you to do your own repairs on your seadoo. The repair manuals have everything from troubleshooting, repair procedures to winterizing. It contains wire diagrams torque specs and pictures for disassemble and assemble instructions. In the spec sheets it tells everything needed to maintain oil changes, spark plug gaps, carburetor rebuilds and impeller wear ring tolerances.
